It’s our birthday, let’s eat cake!
Our new fundraising initiative – the Great Cake Off – is really causing a stir. The first took place in Wedmore last November, we’ve had several since and there are three planned for April!
Local residents and businesses supported the Wedmore event by simply baking some delicious treats and selling them off on the day. There were awards for ‘Best Sponge’, ‘Best Decorated’ and ‘Under 16’s’ and the competition was tough! The people of Wedmore raised £500 for the Hospice simply by getting their mixing bowls and piping bags out.
You can get involved by joining our events in Cheddar, Burnham and Weston-super-Mare in April. Or, organise your own. It really is a piece of cake!
Just pick a date, a venue, get some extra bakers to help you and ask everyone you know – friends, family, colleagues and school friends – to come along a buy one!
Our fundraisers will support you every step of the way and you’ll get a Great Cake Off Toolkit containing tasty treat ideas, posters, flyers, bunting and top tips for making your event a great success!
