Weston Hospicecare’s bereavement support is almost completely provided by a group of around 20 volunteers. Whilst they are not trained counsellors, each volunteer receives special intensive training and supervision to support them in ensuring they do their role to a high standard. Most people benefiting from our bereavement support will be seen either in the Hospice or their own home. It really depends what is most comfortable for the individual.
We also provide a monthly coffee morning, which is held in the local community and staffed by a volunteer. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet new people, make friends and have someone to talk to about your difficult experience.
Our bereavement booklet has useful information for anyone who is recently bereaved. Download it now.
