We have nearly 700 volunteers – saving the Hospice over £1 million each year – who all choose to get involved for very different reasons, like:

  • Making a difference to an individual’s life
  • Changing the way things work for the better
  • Getting invaluable work experience
  • Developing new skills and putting existing ones to good use
  • Getting involved with the community
  • Making new friends

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Weston Hospicecare team, each person bringing their specific skills, humour, interests and experience to a variety of roles including receptionists, drivers, administrators, shop assistants, companions and catering staff; the list is almost endless. We provide full training on all our voluntary roles and you will learn about the work of the Hospice, as well as gaining valuable skills and experience. Above all you will be part of a wonderful, dedicated team, helping to make a difference to an increasing number of local families.

There are a wide range of volunteer roles available and even if you can only spare a few hours a week, you will find something to suit you!

Group Volunteering

Could you get together a group of 8 to 10 people to help Weston Hospicecare sort donations for our charity shops? We urgently require group volunteers.

One-Off Volunteering

Join our Hospice hive of one-off volunteers. This group of supporters like to dip in and out, helping us when they are able to.
